Open Tryout Window
The Open Tryout Window is designated by the NorCal League Office, and each Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) may tailor this window by adjusting dates within the prescribed period. RACs may also establish tryout periods outside this window for players currently registered with clubs in their region, provided they obtain approval from the NorCal Board of Directors.
Winter Recreational Tryout Window
During the Winter Recreational Tryout Window, clubs have the opportunity to conduct open tryouts to incorporate players not currently registered with a competitive team within any NorCal Club. This window opens on the first Monday of November and continues through the first weekend of February, allowing clubs to transition players from recreational to competitive soccer at the conclusion of their recreational season. It is important to note that competitive players registered with other NorCal Clubs are not eligible to participate in these tryouts, except during the Open Tryout Window. All promotional materials for a club's Winter Recreational Tryouts must clearly state this limitation.
Spring Transfer Freeze
Players transferring between NorCal Clubs after April 1 will be ineligible to participate in NorCal competitions for their new club until the completion of all games in the ongoing Spring season.
